Gobbler track state bound

Track season is nearly over, but the Cuero Gobblers still have some unfinished business to attend to this week in Austin. Including alternates, eight boys from Cuero High School qualified for this season’s state track and field meet to be held May 11-13 at the University of Texas’ Mike A. Myers Stadium.

Two relay teams and Caeveon Patton in discus qualified for the state meet following their performances at the Region IV-4A meet in Kingsville.

Caeveon finished in second place with a throw of 162 feet and three inches, setting a personal record in the process.
